My goal is to be that outdoorsy friend you have that seems to always be trying new activities and trying to get you to come along. Join me for honest gear recommendations, a helping hand into new hobbies, nuanced commentary, and down-to-earth vlogs (with, hopefully, some humour thrown in there).
No hobby is off the table, but there are bonus points if it relates to getting outside, environmentalism, animal welfare, sports and fitness, improving your lifestyle, and becoming more sustainable.
YouTube is my main focus right now, but I do like to post the occasional short form video on Instagram and TikTok, and dabble in other creative mediums like photography and digital painting.

The backstory…
Hi, I’m Elliot Dickinson (they/she), the person behind Fareweld. I’m a graphic designer by day and an online hobby enthusiast by night.
Years of doomscrolling, climate anxiety, and real-life stress left me feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and stuck. I had no passions, no life purpose, and no path forward, and I kept feeling like I'd missed my chance to be really good at something.
It's still a work in progress, but I'm slowly realising that you don't need to be perfect to start something new, and you can just dip your toes in. It’s not about picking one big passion in life, but being a jack of all trades and turning over a new leaf every day.
I’m coming to realise that while I might never be a master in something, I could be the first person to introduce someone to a new hobby, skill or lifestyle. Maybe I could inspire someone to go hiking for the first time. Maybe I could inspire someone to think about the way they buy clothing. Maybe I could inspire someone who would later become a master in their field.
So, whether it’s sharing my journey in learning a new sport, giving advice about a skill or discipline, or sharing a video essay about environmentalism, the aim is simple: plant the seed, and get more people turning over a new leaf.

I’ve been making stuff for years now - I actually uploaded my first YouTube video back in 2010 (please don’t look for it lol). Every time I would start a new channel or account, I’d quickly get bored because I wasn’t passionate about the subject matter!
I started making short-form content about outdoorsy hobbies in October 2024, but I started taking it more seriously in January 2025 when I rebranded my abandoned YouTube channel and began uploading videos to a semi-regular schedule. It feels so much better to be making stuff that I feel passionate about!
